Spring harvest of cool weather crops like lettuce and strawberries and early pruning of cucumbers as well as removing cucumber flowers to let the plants grow stronger was completed. Some architectural skills such as working with invasive bamboo to make a support structure for beans was also needed by our good volunteers.

What is your favorite Native Plant to grow??

This is a great resource for our region to learn more about our native plants, where to plant them, sun exposure and moisture control.

One of the easiest ways for us to reduce our pollution contribution to the Chesapeake Bay is to replace some of our lawn and typical landscapes with native plants. Native plants have occurred in our region for hundreds of years and are accustomed to local sun, soil, and climate.
