In this beginner-friendly workshop, adult participants (ages 13 and up) will learn how to turn simple knots into gorgeous, professional-quality gifts or ornaments. During the class, Jo'e Simons will guide you in crafting 1 to 3 beautiful take-away pieces of your choice, including a star ornament, a floppy-person key ring, and other ornament choices. Class Description:
Join us at the Kocen Arts Center for a biblically based Prophetic Arts experience centered on fellowship, community, creativity, and spiritual inspiration. Each class begins with a creative prophetic lecture, laying the foundation for inspiration and a deeper understanding as participants explore signs, wonders, and prophetic revelations.

Participants will then create their own acrylic artwork inspired by the experience, followed by meaningful discussion and reflection with the group. No prior art experience is necessary - come as you are and enjoy a welcoming space to create, connect, and grow together.

The Arts Council of Calvert County is excited to share our November exhibition, "Thank You For Your Service," a special gallery exhibition honoring the men and women who have served our country. In recognition of Veteran's Day, this show will explore what service, sacrifice, remembrance, and gratitude mean to each artist.

Artists are invited to submit artwork created by veterans or created to honor veterans and their experiences. Whether inspired by personal experiences, a loved one who served, the meaning of military service, or the ways vetrans have impacted our communities, we encourage artists to share work that reflects their own connection to and appreciation for those who have served.

The show will be displayed at the CalvART Gallery and run from November 7th - 28th with a reception on Saturday, November 14th from 1pm - 3pm. This is an open show for artists of all ages in the Southern Maryland region. All mediums are welcome.
