A Toastmasters tip to help you maintain a confident mindset 💪✨🗣️

I was just a panelist in the Diabetes 101 for Beginners FB Expo and had no idea that I was slated to give a 15 minute presentation after the panelist discussion. I literally learned this as she was making introductions. So what did I do?

I smiled and nodded and looked as if I knew this. Then I let my intuition and experience of being a Toastmasters member kick in and gave a presentation that I believe would make Toastmasters proud.

I included pauses and spoke slowly articulating my points clearly. I engaged the audience with a deep breathing exercise and kept circling back to the point of the conversation … stress management as it relates to smoking.

I ended with a smile (and no, “Thank you”

I am sure as I rewatch the video I will have critiques. In this moment however, I am proud and satisfied and most importantly thankful for Toastmasters and how it has prepared me for exactly this moment.

So Thank you Calvert Toastmasters for your support and guidance and increased confidence. ❤️💯❤️
