October 15th, a cool start today with 41F temperature.
Today is the day the burn site is accessible.
Two volunteers, one senior trustee and one senior plotowner with a pick up truck, worked 2 hours together this morning and hauled three loads of brush to the burn site.

Someone unknown to us to-date got in before them and took two of the brush piles. Thank you to them!!!!!
Now all the piles awaiting transfer are gone! :-)
Some clean up in each spot remains, as weather permits.

Heavy rain is in the forecast for tonight and Friday and then colder temperatures for Saturday down in the 30's.

The foliage colors are still beautiful and today's sky is clear blue. Leaves are beginning to drop from the trees now.
Enjoy it while you can.

Clean up work still remains where the brush piles were.
Help of a volunteer with a small power saw will be appreciated for removal of small stumps sticking up in the clean up areas.
Anyone assisting with the clean up need to wear thick gloves as many brambles with thorns still remain in those areas.

October 11th, a cool start to our day and we await forecast of rain this afternoon and evening.

A morning visit and walk in the property with a designated plot search was made by one volunteer trustee.
The floral garden still looks good this morning even after approximately two weeks now of cool nights and mornings.

Reminder to all plot owner families - - please be thinking about your seasonal holiday decorations on your plots. All Spring, Summer and Fall decorations need to be removed by mid November. And the property closes December 1st, or sooner if snow / ice storms should occur. (Winter holiday decorations put in before December 1st will remain until Spring clean up day.)

2) Second section which is the level area;
3) Third section on the top of the hill.
Plot numbers are detailed on these maps.

Updated map for the third section will be added when available.

October 9th is a cool morning with a mix of sun and clouds.

One hour of senior trustee volunteer clean up time was done this morning in the brush and grapevines project in the area along the west side of the hill road.
One more hour this afternoon by one senior trustee volunteer with brush clean up has now caught it up to the spot where the primary cutter senior trustee volunteer stopped. :-)
***The next important need here is for a volunteer with a pick up truck to help to collect the brush piles and get them to the burn site in East Poultney.

More is to be done when time and weather permits.
NOTE: No work is to be done Saturday the 10th until perhaps mid afternoon due to a funeral scheduled.

A few photos today are beginning to reveal the improvement.

October 8th, another cool morning after rain in the night. Some light showers this morning as well as some coming this afternoon.

Three volunteers, two trustees and one plot owner with a pick up truck, worked three hours on the brush and grapevines in the area along the left (west) side of the hill road. More brush was cut and grapevines removed.
And three well packed loads of brush were loaded and delivered to the burn site in East Poultney.
Another volunteer plot owner and also another trustee stopped by to chat. The plot owner who stopped has a small saw and will tend to the small stumps needing to be reduced to ground level.

October 6th is another cool start today after rain last evening and some beautiful rainbows.

Today another 1 and 1/2 hours senior volunteer trustee time working on the grapevines and brush along the left side of the hill road.
The pile of brush of yesterday is much larger today. A new pile will begin the next start.

Several small stumps are in today's section that help is needed with removal.

October 5th, a cool morning with blue sky after rain in the night last.

Another 2 and 1/ 2 hours of senior volunteer trustee brush and grape vines clean up time for today.
Two new piles of brush for the burn site are in the area along the hill road and another has grown much taller.
Clean up is getting closer now to the spot where the senior trustee volunteer stopped last week and expects to start again later this week, weather permitting.

Should a volunteer exist who owns a small power hand saw it will be gratefully appreciated if they will help.
In the dirt area by these brush piles there are a few small stumps that need to be cut to ground level. Some are only an inch or two tall and a few others are about 10 inches tall. They are ones that will trip a person easily walking there and not realizing they are there.
Should the area clean up enough to permit grass to grow and be mowed the stumps would also be problems for mowing equipment.

The trees are showing the change of colors now but are not at peak yet.
Another 1 1/2 hours of volunteer senior trustee time cutting and cleaning some of the brush and grapevines.

October 3rd, a cool start this morning with beautiful clear blue sky after the dark and rainy day most of yesterday.

More cleanup work was accomplished in the Old Cemetery in 3 hours of time with one senior volunteer trustee and one senior volunteer plot owner who has a pickup truck.

Three loads of brush from the Beaman Street hedge was cleaned up and 3 trips made to East Poultney to the burn site.
The pile of brush was huge and each truckload packed full.

Thank you so much for the new volunteer who helped today.

Now work will be back to the area on the left side of the road going up the hill.
Much to be done there.

October 1st. It has been a dark and cloudy morning after rain in the night last and for several days leading up to today.

About 1 1/2 hours senior trustee volunteer time permitted a bit more grapevines and brush clean up along the left side of the hill road. Much more to go.

Rain is in the forecast for tonight and Friday but Saturday looks like conditions might be favorable.

A few photos today. The pile for pick up and transfer to East Poultney to the burn site has grown again and a new pile was started too.
