Kathleen knew her mom would have wanted her furniture to go to a good cause. So, after her mom passed, Kathleen and her husband, Paul, packed a moving truck full of gently-used furniture and brought it to Community Warehouse.

Now, these pieces will have a second life, helping create comfy, furnished homes for neighbors in our community. And the majority of these items will be in homes within 48 hours!

We’re so grateful to Kathleen and Paul for honoring their loved one’s memory in such a meaningful way. 💛

Thank you to the recent Heritage Bank volunteer group for visiting our Tigard furniture bank to help assemble 60 Clean Home Kits and sort heaps of silverware! Your support is helping neighbors entering stable housing live with comfort and dignity in a furnished home.

Step 1: Check that your goods are in good shape. Are they home ready? (Read our donation guidelines on our website.) ✅

Step 2: Choose your closest drop-off location. We’re in Portland, Gresham, and Tigard. (or schedule a pickup! ✅

Step 3: Drop off your items. We’ll greet you with a helping hand. ✅

Step 4: We’ll connect your donated items to Portland-area families who need them most. ✅

Congratulations to Dan Lawlor on receiving Community Services Network 's Anchor Award! 🎉

For the past 15 years, Dan has been a steady presence at Community Warehouse—serving as a Pickup Driver, Furniture Bank Coordinator, and now Furniture Bank Supervisor. Through his compassion, leadership, and unwavering commitment, he's helped ensure that more than 90,000 families and individuals have the essential furniture and household items they need to transform an empty space into a home.

For our referring partners, Dan has been a trusted teammate. For the neighbors we serve, he's often the first friendly face to celebrate this new chapter with a high five, a smile, or even a few tears of joy.

As one of our longtime case managers shared, "Community Warehouse—and our whole community—is lucky to have such a great person."
