D***s on Bikes (DOB) is a loosely affiliated international network of mostly le***an and d**e motorcycle clubs. They are known for their participation in gay pride events such as Pride parades, D**e Marches and significant LGBT events like the international Gay Games. This FaceBook page will serve as a space to share events/parades/and rides we can participate in united, or individually. As D***s
on Bikes are a historic symbol of LGBT pride, defiance, liberation and empowerment. Much like the Drag Queens, and other symbols in our culture our contingency are fiercely independent and self-reliant in the DIY and feminist traditions and have been studied as a social phenomenon as a "complex, multi-layered form of consumption-related cultural resistance that raises awareness of social injustice and discursively informs social meanings in everyday life outside the festivals." We encourage you to post information about your local pride (please include links to the event website, and link to the D***s on Bikes information on that site), events in our area that many of us may be interested in supporting, or just some good ol’ fashion rides.
