Throwback Thursday: T-Shirts
We’ve had a number of t-shirt designs throughout the years. Do you have any of these or others?
The windsock design on pages 6 & 7 shows the North wind blowing a potpourri of alphabets through the sky.
Marcie Steer’s shirt design on page 6 & 7 is called “No Matter How You Write It,” with the word “Peace” written in various languages.

Today we celebrate the birthday of Lloyd J. Reynolds, whose love of letters and dedication to teaching helped shape Portland’s calligraphy community.

May his legacy continue to inspire us to slow down, pick up a pen, and find beauty in the written word. ✒️

Happy birthday, Lloyd!

Throwback Thursday: Bettye Lou Bennett at Haystack
In mid-July of 1981, 30 eager calligraphers from Oregon, Washington, and Canada congregated in Cannon Beach for 2 weeks of intensive study with Bettye Lou Bennett. The class met each day at the local school from 9-4 for instruction, then study or practice time in the evening. Bettye Lou's keen instruction, encouragement and personal attention made it a rich experience.
