💙 101 Years of Community: Belonging Starts Here

As part of our 101 Years of Community campaign, we’re sharing stories about what NECC means to the people we serve. This summer, families told us their children found more than fun activities. They found friendship, connection, and a sense of belonging that lasts far longer than one summer.

“I love that sense of belonging and inclusion she felt.”

For 101 years, NECC has helped young people build community, and we’re working to ensure future generations can do the same.

Already missing camp? Join us for Winter Break Camp this December! ☃️ And keep an eye out for our 2027 Summer Camp schedule, coming to our website in late December, with registration opening in February. ☀️

When Ellen moved to Portland from Baltimore four years ago, she came to NECC for yoga and swimming. What she found was something even more meaningful: a community.

The friendships built in the lobby, the familiar faces at the pool, the teachers who know your name, and the people who make room for someone new. Sometimes community grows in the smallest moments. Special thanks to Ellen for sharing her NECC story as part of our 101 Years of Community campaign.

“I don’t know where I’d be if I hadn’t found this community when we moved to Portland.”

Sometimes you come for the class. And find your people.
