NW Kidney Kids We serve children in the PNW who experience chronic kidney diease and thier families. Northwest Kidney Kids, Inc.

signature program is Teen & Family Kidney Camp – a four day camp designed specifically for Teens with chronic kidney disease followed by a three day weekend camp for children with chronic kidney disease and their families. In addition to camp, our Blood Pressure Monitor Program provides free blood pressure monitors to children impacted by kidney disease and we distribute blood pressure monitors to

the parents of children with health issues such as obesity, kidney conditions and diabetes to help in the prevention, diagnosis and early treatment of hypertension and ultimately kidney problems. Our Kidney Teen Leadership Program and Family Support Program looks to engage children, teens, siblings and their families year around with quarterly activities that are both fun and educational. Through our Educational Program we have developed an 8-page brochure to educate families, teachers, and school administrators about kidney disease and the problems associated with providing a consistent education to children with kidney disease. In addition, we provide books, web materials, and related resources on parenting and managing life with kidney disease.

Strut Warrior Highlight!

For those who read my first post, you know that my journey started before I was even born.
Here is part #2 to my story — the now!

I have been receiving care at Legacy Emmanuel Randall Children’s Hospital. Going to doctor appointments and therapies became normal on a monthly basis. Then my kidney appointments changed to yearly checkups. My super kidney is working well and strong, as it should. My doctor, Dr. Su, is proud of how healthy and strong it is.

My family and I have attended Family Camp for 4 years now. The best organization to be a part of, that not only benefits the kidney kid, but the family can enjoy as well. My parents love Family Camp because they trust the care of everyone at camp, and I can be with my peers, and mom and dad can get quality time while my brother and I are with our counselors and peers. My mom and dad also listen to everyone’s story and journey for support.
