Oregon Health Authority (OHA) is reminding people with Oregon Health Plan (OHP ) coverage to make sure their contact information is up to date.

This is important because new federal rules require every state to change how they manage their health coverage programs and OHP members may need to receive additional information to keep their coverage.

Members should respond to renewal letters and keep their contact information and preferred language up to date by going to Benefits.Oregon.gov, calling 1-800-699-9075, or visiting a local ODHS office.

What the new federal rules mean for Oregon:

* Starting in January 2027, some adult OHP members, including some adults covered by Healthier Oregon, will need to meet work or other activity rules starting in January 2027. There will be exemptions, but the federal government only recently provided details on the rules. OHA is reviewing the new information and will share more about exemptions later this summer.

* Starting in late 2027, most people will need to renew their OHP coverage more often. Some adults will need to renew every 6 months, while others will renew annually.

People can still apply for OHP any time by going to Benefits.Oregon.gov, calling 800-699-9075, or visiting a local ODHS office. People can find free help at OregonHealthCare.gov/GetHelp.

Project Access NOW celebrates July as , also known as National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month. This month, and every month, we work together to address the systemic barriers and obstacles faced by underserved communities.

Bebe Moore Campbell - a teacher, journalist, author, and champion for mental health equity - laid the foundation for this work. Her tireless advocacy focused on shedding light on the needs of underrepresented groups and breaking down the stigma within diverse communities. Honoring this month is a powerful way to uphold and promote these values throughout the year.

An example of this in action is , a Portland-based nonprofit organization that has partnered with PANOW in the past to share information and provide training on mental health for staff and clients. Thank you also to Mental Health America for the great tools, available for free on their website.

Many Oregonians were unable to sign up for health coverage during last winter's Marketplace enrollment period or may have lost their coverage since.

While Open Enrollment typically runs from November 1 through December 15 or January 15 (depending on the year’s rules), you may still qualify to enroll outside that window if you’ve experienced a significant life event within the past 60 days.

Qualifying life events may include:
* Birth, adoption, or placement of a child in your home
* Moving to a new area
* Involuntary loss of health coverage
* Marriage, divorce, or death in the family
* Change in immigration status
* Release from incarceration
