ASCO: WITHOUT PERMISSION profiles the Los-Angeles based Chicano art collective that was far ahead of its time in the '70s and '80s.

With a name derived from the Spanish word for disgust, the art collective was formed by teenagers Harry Gamboa Jr., Glugio “Gronk” Nicandro, Willie Herrón, and Patssi Valdez. Operating out of East L.A., they staged public, theatrical acts of rebellion to fight back against the pervasive stereotypes and exclusion they faced from Hollywood, museums, and mainstream media.

🎞️ 35mm film screenings are back!

We are thrilled to announce the return of 35mm film to PAM CUT @ The Whitsell, kicking off with Terrence Malick’s romantic period drama DAYS OF HEAVEN (1978). Pushing the limits of 35mm film, it was shot entirely in natural light during Magic Hour. Sat, June 27, 2 p.m.

On Sat, July 25, we’ll show Jonathan Glazer’s feature debut, the slick and stylish thriller SEXY BEAST (2000).
