Career Connect students from our CTE Design and EFA Visual Arts classes attended Portfolio Day at the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts, connecting with art experts for live portfolio reviews. Afterwards, the students took a mural tour around downtown Kalamazoo. Opportunities like this help bridge classroom learning with creative careers!

Students in grades 7-12 can join KRESA's Competitive Drone Flying program to learn how to fly and code drones as part of a team. No experience needed!

📅 Sign up now to reserve your spot.
🛸 Week of November 30: Learn to fly and code during practice sessions.

🏆 January-March: Compete against teams from across Michigan.

A Trip Through Time at the Museum! 🧸✨

Our WoodsEdge learners recently headed out on a Community-Based Instruction (CBI) trip to the Kalamazoo Valley Museum, where they had the opportunity to explore the fascinating History of Toys exhibit!

Community-based learning experiences like these help students build real-world skills while exploring new environments and discovering interests beyond the classroom. We loved seeing the joy and excitement on their faces as they stepped back in time through the world of toys. 🎲🪀🧩

Every thread tells a story. 🧵

At the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts' ¡Noche de Familia!, our community came together through the Rope Project to honor the dedication and sacrifice of migrant and farm workers. Our Education for the Arts (EFA) students and staff worked together with community members to weave stories into two beautiful, symbolic ropes.

Thank you to everyone who joined us to meet teachers, learn about classroom goals, celebrate learner progress, and hear about all of the exciting experiences planned for the year ahead. Strong partnerships between home and school help create the best possible learning environment for our students, and we are grateful for the opportunity to connect with families.
