Learning by doing at the Kalamazoo Nature Center! 🌿💧

Students in our Career & Technical Education (CTE) Conservation Biology program spend their class time throughout the year at the Heronwood Field Station.

This past month, they dove into water quality and local ecosystems, rolling up their sleeves to pull up invasive species, dig up pond lily pad roots, and test water quality in local streams.

Check out the incredible artistry happening in our Education for the Arts (EFA) Intermediate Dance Studio! 🩰

This group of dancers spent the year at Kalamazoo Central High School, exploring formal techniques in classical modern dance, ballet, jazz, hip hop, and additional forms from around the world.

With guidance from EFA High School Dance Instructor Francesca Pileci, who has years of professional dance experience, these students are expressing themselves and elevating their craft every single day.

KRESA Career Connect's Education for the Arts (EFA) is delighted to announce the 2026-27 Rep (short for “repertoire”). With nine diverse selections, there is a work of art to engage every student.

K-12 schools and special education programs in the Kalamazoo RESA service area may attend these works of art through a variety of EFA programs, including EFA Presents!, PACE, Aesthetic Education, and the Alternative Arts Initiative.

🎉Celebrating the creative minds of our Career Champions! 👏

Our Innovation Showcase spotlighted their latest projects that connect educators and community partners to build meaningful career programs for students of all ages.

From career fairs and lemonade stands, to mock interviews and wax museums, they shared the innovative ways they engaged students to get them excited and talking about what's possible in their future!

Our participants represent Kalamazoo Public Schools, Parchment School District, Comstock Public Schools, Vicksburg Community Schools, Schoolcraft Community Schools, Galesburg-Augusta Community Schools, and our specialized Climate Careers and Multilingual Learners teams.

We can't wait to see what the 2026-27 cohort creates!

The Career Connect Superstar award recognizes team members who embody our vision of a community transformed by empowered learners. As an Early/Middle College (EMC) Career Coach at KRESA, Joe helps students find their passion and path towards their future careers.

Through his role, students can navigate earning two credentials while in high school: their high school diploma and an associate degree or certificate.
