Arise the Light Has Come! We have power at the church now! Thanks to all those who were back out this week clearing up yard, hauling all the limbs to the curb and cleaning out the fridge. We will be restocking our spirits, and our fridge, this Sunday. Anne will be preaching for us and we are excited to be out of the darkness once again. Last Monday before the storms the book bags were delivered to the Aliveness Project NWI for distribution to the kids. Over 34 kids got the school supplies they needed to start this school year focused on success. Though for many that start of school is still delayed but they will definitely be ready. Thanks to all folks at MCC Illiana who again this year who added a child to their back to school shopping lists as we continue to serve our community.

MCC Illiana continues to clean up after last weeks catastrophic weather events. First our memorial tree survived the derecho. We have been busy with clearing out the fallen trees. After our power-still-out but we still going to praise service on Sunday the grill was fired up while chainsaws began chopping through the branches. We are still without power and as Portage has been removed from the 100% restored by Friday list we are still hoping to have service with AC this Sunday. Please continue to keep us up to date on your situation.

Our church family is making it through this catastrophe following the sever weather event on Tuesday morning. Like most of the region we are still without power and Starbucks. We don’t anticipate having our power restored until next week at the earliest. We will still have a gathering for a simple service on Sunday at 10:30am, weather permitting we may be outside. There are still a lot of traffic lights out in the area, please continue to drive safely. For our online viewers we don’t have internet unfortunately so please don’t wait around all morning with anticipation for the livestream to start.
