A little context regarding our temporary closure…
We’ve received a few questions and concerns after last night’s post, so we want to reassure everyone: nothing additional has happened to American Legion Post 260.
Our building is temporarily closed primarily because we still do not have electrical power following last week’s storm.
For six straight days, our Legion Family volunteers worked out of a building with no electricity and no air conditioning, preparing and serving meals to members of our community. After everything that has taken place, both our volunteers and our facility need a little time to recover.
Once power is restored, we still have work to do before we can responsibly reopen. The building will need to be thoroughly cleaned, the entire bar will need to be restocked, and we want to conduct a complete inspection of the property to make sure there is no storm damage that may have been overlooked while the building has been without power.
We may also take advantage of this temporary closure to complete some much-needed repairs and improvements to our facility while we have the opportunity to do so.
Most importantly, Post 260 remains available. The building may be closed, but our organization is not. If you have questions, need assistance, or need to reach someone at the Post, please send us a message through this page. We will continue monitoring messages and responding as we are able.
This is temporary. Post 260 isn’t going anywhere.
If anything, the last week has demonstrated exactly why organizations like the American Legion matter. When our community needed help, our Legion Family went to work.
We appreciate everyone’s patience, concern and continued support. We will reopen as soon as we can do so safely and properly, and we’ll keep everyone updated along the way.
The doors may be temporarily closed, but the mission continues. 🇺🇸
