The Cat House

The Cat House A cat/kitten contact facility that assists in finding a purrfect cat or kitten for you to adopt. We network with all shelters and local rescues.

We are NOT an intake facility anymore. All kitties are "fixed' vaccinated, tested, flea/worm treated, and FIV/FeLV neg. We will help you to find the cat/kitten you are looking to adopt as an indoor pet by networking with local shelters/rescues!

WOW! GREAT JOB, Stephanie! She has successfully trapped the momma cat where she lives! She is now officially one of us
in the "Cat Mafia". She is getting her spayed tomorrow. She followed all of the tips shown to her with the trap we supplied her with and has 2 new traps ordered. She plans on continuing her mission between her other obligations to get the others near her home in Port Clinton trapped and fixed!

Today, Norma came to visit the kitties. A few allowed her to brush them. Miss Wiggles is especially fond of being brushed. Norma shared her photos of her kitties that stay indoors as well as the ones she cares for that are outside. Norma also brought a donation, so THANK YOU to Norma.
The kitties love visitors. If you have 1/2 hour to spare, come to visit the residents while they wait for a forever indoor home!

Today, Marla and her grandsons, Isaac and Kash, came to The Cat House with bleach, Churo treats, a new broom and dustpan as well as some Tidy Cat litter. Wow, we surely appreciate all of these needed items!
Next, Isaac and Marla got the ladder and cleaned all of the cottonwood and webs off of the entire outside walls of The Cat House. They also used the blower they brought with them to blow off the concrete floor of the outdoor catio! Kash and Lisa were painting a few of the outdoor signs that needed fresh paint.
The place looks fabulous! Stop in to check out how nice The Cat House looks. The residents would love more visitors to brush them and play with them. IF you wear sandals, the youngster, Ozzy, loves to lick toes! We will be waiting for you to come to visit!

Yesterday, Stephanie came out to The Cat House to visit and learn about the trapping of kitties to get them fixed. She was given a trap and shown how to work it. Her goal is to catch at least the female cat where she lives (along shore of Lake Erie) and then focus on the four kittens. She has to leave for Florida in the next month. The big question is "Is anyone able to house any kittens trapped until the neuter/spay date of July 19th?". Food and litter will be provided. (Side note: both Lisa and Stephanie are retired pharmacists..it was cool to exchange stories!..lol)
On another note, "Popcorn", the kitten rescued near Great Lakes Popcorn in downtown Port Clinton, gets his neuter done on Tues June 19th. He has an indoor home already ..YAY!! Once again, thank you to all of you who donated $ to pay for the spay/neuter voucher for the low cost program at Oak Harbor Vet ($75 for a male and $95 for a female). We do have another option for Aug 30th to get cats fixed as we have appts at Oak Harbor vet booked until Sept. We will need anyone who wants to donate $ for this low cost spay/neuter (DeeDee's Feline Angels to contact us. I believe it is $40 for a male and $60 for a female.
We don't have pay pal or venmo or anything like that, so IF you wish to donate toward this option, message me (Lisa), and I will be happy to tell you how! We are a tiny group of volunteers, but we are doing what we can to help prevent the birth of homeless kitties!

The cats had visitors yesterday and today. They are so happy! DeDe and Penny came by yesterday. DeDe and I did a cat rescue around 8 yrs ago at Clinton Reef condos. DeDe took 2 of the kitties as forever pets, and Penny took 2 in. They were all fixed and vetted by DeDe. Penny gave us a donation yesterday, too!
Today, Marla and her 2 grandsons, Isaac and Cash, came over to learn the ropes to start volunteering. YAY!! Oliver really bonded with Isaac, and Miss Wiggles was delighted to receive so much attention from everybody. Ozzy made up with the boys once they got the Churo treats out..lol! Baby Girl, Mr Freddie, and Rusty were being shy. Theo, Calypso, and Tuffy stayed in hiding. The more Marla and the boys come to The Cat House, the more the shy ones will come around for pets and loving. What a nice couple of days it has been!

Today, DeDe and Paul brought a bag of dry cat food, a case of wet pate cat food, puppy pads for Amy M (our kitten rescuer), and a canister of party mix beachside crunch treats for the Cat House residents. Marilyn E, a long time supporter of the Cat House, also sent a donation in memory of a dear friend's significant other's passing away. We feel so grateful and lucky to have such loyal supporters over our 11 years (ALEADY!!) of existance. We continue to help the public with OTC worm and ear mite meds as well as opthalmic eye ointment when needed. We are also getting as many kitties spayed and neutered as possible based on donations from generous supporters. We have appts at Oak Harbor vet booked all the way until the end of August and have intentions of continuing this effort as long as we can! THANK YOU to anyone who helps any animal in any way!
