Accent Pontiac, an El Sistema-inspired music program in Pontiac, MI, launched its pilot program on January 10th, 2017. The program is partnering with Walt Whitman and Alcott Elementary Schools and Pontiac Middle School. Accent Pontiac is currently serving approximately 125 second and third grade students. Students receive 45 minutes of bucket band instruction two days per week during the school da

y. Our after-school program includes Intermediate Brass two days per week, Introductory Brass two days per week, and Performance Bucket Band two days per week as well as snack and enrichment activities. Accent Pontiac is dedicated to the belief that all students deserve equitable access to a robust music education.

Yesterday Teacher Rolando and Mr. Clark celebrated with the 5th graders at Whitman for their graduation from elementary school. Congrats to all youth in our community who completed a major milestone this school year!!
