Do Only Good Animal Rescue We are a foster-based 501(c)3 animal rescue operating in conjunction with the Oakland County Animals Control and Pet Adoption Center.

We facilitate pet adoptions for pets who end up at the Adoption Center. For more details, please feel free to contact us. Do Only Good Animal Rescue is founded by five dedicated volunteers from Oakland County Animal Shelter. We want to help each and every rescue only dog find the best possible home.

Thicker than a snicker, heavy like a Chevy….meet AMOS💙🤩 This stout muffin is about a year old, around 51lbs & is listed as a mixed breed. He’s spent more than half of his life sitting at the shelter waiting but he’s ready to bust out & start living life🎉

💙absolutely phenomenal loose leash walker
🌀excellent in the car
💙LOVES his big block head pet
🌀seems dog friendly but a meet & greet is required with any dog(s) he’d be living with to ensure a successful fit
💙enjoys sleeping with his people
🌀house trained
💙crate trained
🌀unsure how he’d do with a cat sibling but seems to not have a prey drive so it could work with slow & repeated introductions
💙no young kiddos as Amos is still young himself & can be mouthy although is easily redirected with a toy or elk bone
🌀did great in the bath🛁
💙curious about everything! Truly just wants to experience life…we let him sniff everything!
🌀knows a few basic commands
💙no behavioral issues
🌀has adorable ears

Amos is a super solid dog. He’s young so could use some additional training but he really just wants a family to choose him, spoil him, love him😊

🐾💔 Meet Kentaro — just a baby who needs someone to love him. 💔🐾

At just 8 months old, Kentaro should be spending his days learning about the world, playing with toys, and snuggling with his favorite person. Instead, he’s struggling with shelter life and dreaming of something so simple: a lap to call his own. 🥺❤️

Kentaro isn’t asking for much. He just wants to feel safe, be loved, and have someone to curl up beside when the world feels overwhelming. 🐶💕

He’s still just a puppy with so much life ahead of him, and shelter life is hard on his little heart. He deserves the chance to grow up in a home where he can finally relax, feel secure, and get all the cuddles his heart desires. 🏡💗

💔 Meet Chapo 💔

Chapo arrived at the shelter in January 2026 after his owner was evicted and could no longer take him along. We hoped his family would be able to come back for him once things got better, but sadly, that day never came. 😔

It was obvious Chapo was loved. He arrived healthy, well cared for, and already knew several commands. 🐾❤️

In April, Chapo became available for adoption. Since then, he has spent month after month waiting for someone to choose him. 🥺

At 9.5 years old, Chapo should be spending his days curled up on a couch, not growing older in a kennel. 💔 Shelter life is hard for a dog who once knew what it felt like to have a home.

Chapo is a sweet, well-mannered boy who loves treats, enjoys going for walks, and still gets the occasional case of the zoomies. 🦴🐕 He knows his commands, loves spending time with people, and would much rather be relaxing with a family than sitting in a kennel.

Despite everything he has lost, Chapo continues to greet people with a wagging tail and hope in his eyes. ❤️

He’s waited long enough. Chapo is ready for his second chance. 🏡🐶✨

💔 Chula never expected to find herself back in a shelter… 💔

At 6 years old, this sweet girl lost the only home she knew when her owner passed away. Through no fault of her own, she suddenly found herself searching for a family all over again. 🥺

Chula is the definition of a good dog. She’s potty trained, crate trained, great with kids, and absolutely loves people. ❤️ She greets everyone she meets with a wagging tail and a hopeful smile, just waiting for someone to choose her.

She previously lived with another dog, but prefers slow introductions when meeting new canine friends. 🐾

After losing so much, Chula deserves a soft bed, a loving family, and a place where she’ll never have to wonder if she’s wanted again. 🏡✨

If you’re looking for a loyal companion with so much love left to give, Chula is waiting patiently for her second chance. ❤️🐶

Jammalynn is only 2 years old and has so much life and love ahead of her—but she’s spending it waiting in a kennel. 💔
This 60-lb wiggly sweetheart has a lovely personality, and an enormous heart. She LOVES people, craves affection, and would happily climb into your lap and stay there.
She knows sit, may be housebroken, and is eager to please. She just needs someone to finally give her the chance to show what an incredible companion she can be.

🍊🧡 Meet Marmalade 🧡🍊

At just 2 years old and 60 pounds, Marmalade should be spending her days curled up on a couch, going on adventures with her family, and knowing what it feels like to be loved. Instead, she was discarded after being used for litter after litter, treated like she was only worth what she could produce.

But despite everything she’s been through, Marmalade’s heart is still so full of love. 🥺💕

She can be a little shy when meeting new people or experiencing new things, but give her some patience, a few tasty treats, and a little kindness, and you’ll quickly discover the sweetest best friend you could ever ask for. ❤️
