Tomorrow (Thursday, October 8) at NOON, Karl and Mike from Valley Mission will begin sitting outside on a bench for 24 hours! They're there to have conversations with community members about homelessness. Stop by and say hello, and ask them questions that have been on your mind.

Two weeks from today, Karl and Mike will sit on a bench for 24 hours straight having dozens of real, unscripted, hard conversations.

Before that day arrives, would you pray?

🙏 For Karl and Mike’s health and endurance
🙏 That nothing interrupts the conversations
🙏 That our Pocatello comes to see homelessness with more humanity and hope
🙏 That God is glorified through every story shared on that bench

We had the best time at the Kind Community kickoff last night! Our community showed up in the best way, and worked together to decorate pillowcases that will be given to people moving into housing from off the streets. Pictures, words of encouragement, and little messages will grace the edge of their pillow as they drift off to sleep in their new home.

Thanks, Pocatello, for showing us how you do Kind!!! 🩷🧡🤍

All are invited to this Su***de Prevention and Awareness event specifically about Veterans. This Thursday night at the Bannock County Veterans Memorial Association building. More details in the attached flyer.

In recognition of National Su***de Prevention Awareness Month, Bannock County Veteran Services invites veterans, service members, families, and community members to a dinner focused on building strong connections and encouraging open conversations around mental health.

6:00 p.m. Thursday, September 17, 2026
Bannock County Veterans Memorial Building (300 N. Johnson Avenue, Pocatello)
Free and open to the public

The evening offers a space for neighbors to come together, share a meal, and support one another. During the program, three local families will share stories honoring the memories of their loved ones, highlighting the real challenges military families face and the strength found in community.

Local mental health professionals, veteran service officers, and community organizations will be present to offer support and share resources. The event will also feature the local “Please Just Stay” campaign, reinforcing the message that every life has value and help is always within reach.

No one has to walk through difficult times alone. We hope you will join us for an evening of connection, remembrance, and support.
