We are looking for volunteers for our PRO-Age Valentines for seniors! If you would like to participate, please have all the Valentines cards given back to the Area V Agency on Aging by February 10th or sooner. This will give us the opportunity to send out the Valentines to individuals living in Assisted Living Facilities, skilled, and nursing facilities.

February is Loneliness Awareness Month! We have a lot of community projects between our Friendly Calling Challenge, which is calling friends or loved ones through the whole month of February. Also, designing or creating Valentines Day cards for seniors who are living in an Assisted Living Facility or Skilled Facility. Hello, everyone!

On behalf of the Area V Agency on Aging's PRO Age Connections Program, we are writing to extend a sincere invitation for your company, organization, friends, and family to participate in our upcoming community outreach event, "PRO Age Connection's Friendly Calling Challenge," which will be held throughout the entire month of February!

The goal of the event is to reach out to as many older adults as possible during the month of February. By having a friendly conversation and showing the older population that we care, we can have a positive impact on our community! ✨️

How you can participate:
We welcome and challenge you to volunteer your time by making 3 to 5 "Friendly Calls" during the month of February. Volunteers will make calls to their friends, family members, neighbors, church members, or any older adults they may know. The calls will provide the person with socialization and kindness and a considerate ear. Just a friendly chat. When calls are completed (3 to 5 per person), each participant will complete an entry form for a chance to win a prize! 🏆🎁

To confirm your participation, please contact [email protected] by January 17, 2025. At that time, entry forms and materials will be provided prior to the starting date of February 1st, 2025.

Big SHOUTOUT to our community volunteers for making Christmas cards for our Pro-Agers! The Christmas cards will be distributed to all seven counties to individuals living in nursing facilities, assisting living facilities, and skilled nursing facilities. If you are looking for a fun community project. This is a great opportunity! We will be accepting Christmas cards now until the 18th of December, so we will have time to mail out the Christmas cards to all of the seven counties. 🎅 🤶🎄
