Plymouth Foundation

Plymouth Foundation For most of Plymouth’s 400 years, the town has grown and thrived economically. The Foundation has its eyes set on the next 400.

We are an independent non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing quality of life in our region through economic growth, connecting government with private-sector initiatives, to strengthen employment opportunities and build a sustainable economy. Working together with town management, municipal departments, and business advocacy groups, our collective charge is to expand Plymouth’s reputation.

Plymouth is widely known as a great place to live and visit. We also want you to know it’s a smart place to build and grow a business. Leading the Foundation is an experienced Executive Director and a committed board of directors. Each member brings distinctive know-how and abundant connections within Plymouth. Many are or have been business owners. They can help businesses wishing to relocate or expand in Plymouth as they navigate the necessary regulatory and permitting processes. We like to think of the Foundation as a one-stop resource for businesses of all sizes with a variety of needs. We view business opportunities through a lens of compatibility. We evaluate whether the opportunity is in sync with Plymouth’s goal of balancing residential and commercial development while preserving open spaces. We take an analytical approach to land use strategies and workforce development. We commission market trend studies that open our eyes to future and emerging technology opportunities. For all these reasons and more, we encourage you to consider Plymouth.

Land use plays an important role in Plymouth’s economic future 🏗️🌿 Thoughtful planning means creating more diversified commercial and mixed use opportunities, focusing growth in areas that are already developed, and balancing progress with infrastructure, open space, and environmental priorities.

Housing and economic development go hand in hand 🏠🔧 Plymouth’s commuting patterns tell an important story, and housing costs are a big part of it. As the town explores ADUs, zoning updates, and infrastructure improvements beyond wells and septic systems, these efforts can help support smart growth, attract development, and strengthen the community for the long term.
