Here’s what we’ve been up to in Abrenya!

We’ve been working on a new computer lab that will give the community access to technology, digital learning resources, and a space to build valuable computer skills.

The lab is equipped with RACHEL Plus, an offline educational server that provides access to a variety of educational content without needing a constant internet connection.

In communities where reliable internet access can be limited, having access to technology and educational resources can open up so many new opportunities.

We’re so excited to see this space come together and look forward to seeing how the Abrenya community puts it to use.

It’s easy to forget how much we take for granted.

We think about the things we want next. A new outfit. A new car. The latest technology.

But for many the things they want can look very different.

A light to study by after the sun goes down. Clean water to drink. A book to read. A computer to learn on. The chance to explore!

Things that may seem small to us can make a huge difference to someone else.

That’s why perspective matters. And it’s why this work matters.

Every light, every book, every borehole, every computer and every opportunity is helping create a future filled with more possibilities.

Sometimes, it just takes seeing things from a different perspective.

The best kind of impact isn’t always measured in numbers.

It’s found in the smiles, the laughter, the moments of connection, and the opportunities that last long after the cameras stop rolling.

This is what generosity looks like.
This is why we do what we do.

The generosity. The impact. The joy. ❤️

Every child has a story worth sharing.

Through the GROW Project (Growing Readers & Outstanding Writers), Empower Playgrounds is helping students strengthen their reading and writing skills while giving them the opportunity to share their own voices with the world.

Through Reading & Writing Clubs, students are guided by teachers and volunteers as they explore books, write their own stories, and build confidence in their creativity. The best stories will be selected and published in an annual anthology, celebrating the imagination and talent of young authors.

Because literacy is more than reading words on a page. It’s about building confidence, expressing ideas, and knowing that your story matters.

Follow along as we help young writers GROW. 🌱

On May 28, our Menstrual Hygiene celebration was a massive success. We were honored to bring together students from seven different schools to learn, celebrate, and help break the stigma surrounding menstrual health ❤️

When communities come together, we can create real change and empower the next generation. Thank you to everyone who showed up, supported, and made this event so impactful.

A menstrual hygiene kit is more than supplies.

It can mean dignity, privacy, health, confidence, and one less barrier to education.

At Empower Playgrounds, these kits help girls manage their periods safely so they can stay healthy, supported, and in school.

This Menstrual Hygiene Day, help provide reusable menstrual hygiene kits for girls ❤️❤️

Menstrual hygiene is about more than period products.

It is about education, comfort, health, and dignity. Too many girls grow up without the information or resources they need to understand their cycles, manage their periods safely, or feel supported at school.

At Empower Playgrounds, menstrual hygiene kits are paired with education to help girls, parents, and teachers break stigma and create safer, more supportive learning environments.

A period should never keep a girl out of school 🫶🏼
