It’s easy to forget how much we take for granted.

We think about the things we want next. A new outfit. A new car. The latest technology.

But for many the things they want can look very different.

A light to study by after the sun goes down. Clean water to drink. A book to read. A computer to learn on. The chance to explore!

Things that may seem small to us can make a huge difference to someone else.

That’s why perspective matters. And it’s why this work matters.

Every light, every book, every borehole, every computer and every opportunity is helping create a future filled with more possibilities.

Sometimes, it just takes seeing things from a different perspective.

Every child has a story worth sharing.

Through the GROW Project (Growing Readers & Outstanding Writers), Empower Playgrounds is helping students strengthen their reading and writing skills while giving them the opportunity to share their own voices with the world.

Through Reading & Writing Clubs, students are guided by teachers and volunteers as they explore books, write their own stories, and build confidence in their creativity. The best stories will be selected and published in an annual anthology, celebrating the imagination and talent of young authors.

Because literacy is more than reading words on a page. It’s about building confidence, expressing ideas, and knowing that your story matters.

On May 28, our Menstrual Hygiene celebration was a massive success. We were honored to bring together students from seven different schools to learn, celebrate, and help break the stigma surrounding menstrual health ❤️

When communities come together, we can create real change and empower the next generation. Thank you to everyone who showed up, supported, and made this event so impactful.

It is about education, comfort, health, and dignity. Too many girls grow up without the information or resources they need to understand their cycles, manage their periods safely, or feel supported at school.

As we count down to Menstrual Hygiene Day, we are thinking about the girls behind every kit.

The girls who want to stay in class.
The girls who deserve to feel prepared.
The girls whose futures should never be limited by a lack of period supplies.

Our menstrual hygiene kits help girls manage their periods safely, confidently, and with dignity. Each kit includes reusable supplies and hygiene essentials, but it also gives something deeper: the chance to show up to school ready to learn, ready to participate, and ready to keep moving toward the future they imagine for themselves.

Because when a girl feels supported, she can focus on more than just getting through the day 🌸

Period poverty is a global issue, and the numbers show why menstrual health access matters.

When girls do not have access to products, education, or safe hygiene resources, it can affect their health, confidence, and ability to stay in school.

At Empower Playgrounds, our menstrual hygiene kits include reusable pads, soap, wash cloths, panties, absorbent liners, a pouch, and educational materials.

These kits are paired with training for girls, parents, and teachers to help end stigma and support girls’ education.

This May 28, we’re joining the conversation for Menstrual Hygiene Day.
