Child care should never cost so much that it threatens a mother’s ability to provide for her family.
Yet for many families in New York, the annual cost of care for an infant or preschooler rivals the cost of rent, college tuition, or even a full-time salary, according to the Schuyler Center for Data and Analysis.

For mothers already facing housing insecurity, these costs create impossible choices:

• Work or stay home
• Pay for child care or pay for housing
• Meet your own basic needs or provide for your child

These are not personal failures. They are systemic barriers affecting families across our communities.

At Heart Well Homestead, we believe that families need more than survival. They deserve stability, safety, and support that acknowledges the real challenges families face every day.
Because no mother should have to choose between keeping a roof over her head and child care.

What an incredible day at Superhero Strides 5K this Sunday at Rulfs Orchard! 🦸‍♂️🏃‍♀️💙

A huge thank you to Texas Roadhouse for their support and helping make this event a success. We loved seeing so many superheroes come together for a great cause!

The fun isn't over yet! Join us for our Dine to Donate event at Texas Roadhouse on June 15. 🍽️🤠 A portion of proceeds will support our mission, so come enjoy a great meal while giving back to the community.

Nobody hands you a manual when you leave the hospital. And in those first blurry, beautiful, overwhelming days — the right information at the right moment can change everything.

At Heart Well Homestead, we believe that a supported mother is a confident mother — and a confident mother raises a thriving baby..

Because when we show up for her, we show up for her baby too. Two generations at a time.

Pregnant and parenting mothers are carrying so much emotionally, physically, and mentally, often without the support systems they deserve. At Heart Well Homestead, we believe every mother should feel seen, supported, and empowered from pregnancy and beyond.

When we launch, we will provide:
✅ Mental health resources tailored for pregnant & parenting mothers
✅ Community connections so no mother walks this journey alone
✅ Advocacy & wraparound support to bridge the gaps our systems have failed to fill

The systems may not have caught up yet, but we're not waiting.

We're building the community mothers in the North Country deserve. 💪
