Just a reminder that Tomorrow Saturday May 16th is CVARC FOX HUNT DAY!
CVARC Members,
This Saturday May 16th we will be holding a Fox Hunt starting at 10:00am. We ask if you would like to participate, please arrive at the May Currier Park (where our club meetings are held) by 9:40 AM.
You will be supplied a map of the area. Compasses and/or Fox Hunting Apps are allowed and suggested. We encourage older hams to act as Elmer's and help newer club members.
Details about the Hunt.
1st Place Winner - $50.00 Gift Certificate to 99 Restaurant
2nd Place Winner - $25.00 Gift Certificate to Loreman's for CVARC Apparel
3rd Place Winner - $25 Gift Certificate to Loreman's for CVARC Apparel.
9:40 AM- Arrive at May Currier Park, Sign In, Receive Maps, test equipment, etc.
10:00 AM- All Hams will disperse from May Currier Park to any location the choose.
10:10 AM- Net Control will begin the Fox Hunt on the Terry Mt. Repeater, giving details about the hunt itself, the boundaries, and other rules. If needed, Hints will be given every Half hour.
To Win:
Once the Fox is discovered, there will be printed statements in the Go Box with the Transmitter. They will be numbered 1-10. Net Control will ask you to repeat the numbered sentence on the Terry Mountain Repeater to net control to confirm you have discovered the fox. Once the sentence is confirmed to be correct, the winner and place will be announced.
We will continue until all hams have found the fox, or you decide to secure. If you can not hear the Fox, try moving to a new location and try again. Please remember, this is meant to be fun and positive experience. This is a learning experience for all involved.
The Fox will have a modified CVARC Logo with a Fox on it.

Fox Transmitter Frequency will be: 146.415
Simplex Coms- 146.58
Club members may also utilize DSTAR, or any other available simplex frequency if they wish to communicate with each other
