The Dollar General Literacy Foundation (DGLF) recently awarded Literacy Volunteers of Clinton, Essex, and Franklin Counties a grant to support adult literacy. The funds contribute to a record-setting, single-day total of nearly $16 million in grants nationwide—supporting adult, family, and summer literacy programs in the 48 states where Dollar General operates. The milestone surpasses the Foundation’s previous record of more than $13.2 million granted in May 2025.

Visit us at Cumberland 12 Cinemas on Sunday, April 26 to get $10 vouchers redeemable at concessions. Funds raised will support our literacy programs. We will be selling the vouchers from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM 🍿

We are grateful to the Adirondack Community Foundation for awarding Literacy Volunteers of Clinton, Essex, and Franklin Counties a Generous Acts grant in support of our Critical Pathways to Education, Work, and Community project.

This funding helps open doors for adult learners across our region. It builds confidence, strengthens skills, and creates new opportunities for employment and community engagement. We are grateful to the Dake Family / Stewart's Shops for their generous support of the Imagination Library in Clinton, Essex, Franklin, and Hamilton Counties through the Holiday Match fund. Their contribution helps us continue getting books into the hands of local children and supporting early literacy.

Our Executive Director, Karen, traveled down to Tri-County Literacy Center for their Scrabble Tournament. Our partner's ED, Roseann, runs a well oiled event. BRAVO!

It was a wonderful event and so much fun! Our team won 2nd Place and we lost by only 50 points. We have our eyes on the top prize next year. 🥇
