Just a reminder:

The Friends of the PPL monthly meeting this Tuesday, July 19 will be at 11am in the Library's 2nd floor meeting room!

We will be at South Acres Park on Thursday, August 4th from 4:30-7:30 for the final "Parks Come Alive!" event. There has been heavy interest in our offering of children's books and activities. We could use some extra hands to help out!! Let me know if you are available.

Sometimes we find a line or dialogue in a book that becomes memorable. Some lines often become legendary. Can you identify what book each line comes from:

1. "I am no bird; and no net ensnares me; I am a free human being with an independent will, which I now exert to leave you."

2. "Beware; for I am fearless, and therefore powerful."

3. "Love is or it ain't. Thin love ain't love at all."

4. "And so we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past."

5. "Who controls the past controls the future. Who controls the present controls the past."

There are book lovers in Antarctica, and a cozy spot for them to read in.

A librarian went to work on this. Oh, you will have to click on it to enlarge it.

This is amazing!

How cool is this? It's the Amelia Valerio Weinberg Memorial Fountain, aka Book Fountain, at Cincinnati & Hamilton County Public Library. It was created by Michael Frasca. I love libraries that have bookish art! (Photo credit unknown)
