HHCS/ARPD Hosted Rescue 1122 for Fire Safety and Emergency Response Training in Peshawar 🚒🔥🧯

🤝 Through our partnership with the Association for the Rehabilitation of the Physically Disabled (ARPD), our on-the-ground partner in Pakistan, HHCS donors help keep a safe and welcoming center open for patients, students and persons with disabilities. Here's a look at a recent day focused on keeping that center safe.

🚒 Rescue 1122, Pakistan's emergency service, sent a team to the ARPD Center in Peshawar. They inspected the building for fire safety and trained everyone in what to do during an emergency.

👥 51 participants took part, including ARPD staff, members of the PWD Power Group ♿ and women from ARPD's Vocational Training Center 👩🏽. Malik Riaz Khan (In-charge, Awareness & Training Wing, Rescue 1122) and Noorul Amin (Medical Instructor, Rescue 1122) led the session. They showed everyone how to use a fire extinguisher 🧯 and ran a full evacuation drill 🏃🏽.

🏫 Every day, the center is full of people who rely on it: patients in therapy, children in the inclusive school and persons with disabilities, some of whom have limited mobility. Now the team is ready to act quickly and calmly to get everyone to safety 🤍.

HHCS/ARPD Held a Free Rehabilitation Camp at Cantonment General Hospital, Peshawar 🏥💚🤝

🌟 Here’s a look at the latest camp from our on-the-ground partner in Pakistan, the Association for the Rehabilitation of the Physically Disabled (ARPD). They brought free rehabilitation and medical care straight into a Peshawar community, and more than 100 people were served in a single day.

HHCS/ARPD Held a Cerebral Palsy Awareness Walk at Mayo Hospital 🧡🚶🏽‍♀️♿

🤲 Thanks to the generosity of HHCS donors, our on-the-ground partner in Pakistan, the Association for the Rehabilitation of the Physically Disabled (ARPD), held an awareness walk at Mayo Hospital Lahore on World Cerebral Palsy Day, in collaboration with Mayo Hospital and the King Edward Medical College Alumni Association of North America (KEMCAANA). Patients, families, doctors, therapists and hospital staff walked together to tell the community one thing: free care for children living with cerebral palsy is now available here 🌟.

🏥 The walk was held for Mayo Hospital’s Cerebral Palsy Centre, the hospital’s first dedicated unit of its kind, run in partnership with HHCS/ARPD. Many families who could benefit still don’t know it exists, and that is the gap we walked to close.

💚 The Centre offers physiotherapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, and supportive seating and assistive devices, all completely free of cost. Every child deserves access to quality rehabilitation, dignity and equal opportunity 🤍.

💍 Thanks to the generosity of HHCS donors, our on-the-ground partner in Pakistan — ARPD — is helping individuals from marginalized communities gain skills that open the door to real independence. Here's a look at their latest jewelry making class.

🧵 At ARPD's Vocational Training Center, a group of individuals from marginalized communities received hands-on instruction in jewelry making — from basic techniques to intricate traditional designs — practical skills they can carry toward self-employment and income generation 💪🏽.

📜 As a training provider registered with the Peshawar Skill Development Council (SDC), HHCS/ARPD awards recognized certificates upon completion — formal credentials that open real doors to employment and entrepreneurship 🌟.

🖌️ Jewelry making is one of several courses offered free of cost through the Center, alongside tailoring and garment making, decoration, crochet, resin art, and cosmetology and beauty care 💚.

HHCS/ARPD Hosts PODA's Free Three-Day Mobile Legal Aid Clinic in Peshawar 🆓⚖️📢

From 18 to 20 August 2026, thanks to the generosity of HHCS donors, our on-the-ground partner ARPD hosted a free, three-day Mobile Legal Aid Clinic at its Rehabilitation Center in Peshawar — delivered by PODA (Potohar Organization for Development Advocacy) in partnership with Noor Mera Ghar (NET), under the Promoting Civic Leadership and Participation project.

⚖️ The three days combined a community-wide awareness campaign with hands-on legal aid. More than 200 people from the surrounding community — women, girls, persons with disabilities, teachers, and students — took part, learning about legal rights and protections that many had never been exposed to before, spanning legal identity documentation 📄, property and inheritance issues 🏡, family matters, disability entitlements ♿, and protection from harassment and violence 🛡️.

💬 Alongside this awareness push, panels of lawyers were on-site throughout the clinic offering free legal consultations and one-on-one sessions — completely free of cost — giving individuals the chance to sit down with a lawyer and walk through their own specific concerns in a safe, private setting. Representatives from government and public-service institutions attended as well, connecting attendees directly to the right departments and resources.

HHCS/ARPD Participated in a Cardiovascular Health and Stroke Awareness Camp for World Physiotherapy Day 2026 💙🫀♻️

🤍 On 5 September 2026, HHCS/ARPD participated as a guest in a Cardiovascular Health and Stroke Awareness Camp organized by Cantonment Board Peshawar in collaboration with Rehman Medical Institute (RMI) Peshawar, held in observance of World Physiotherapy Day 2026 at Khalid Bin Park, Peshawar Cantt. Chief Executive Officer of Cantonment Board Peshawar, Chaudry Baber Hussain, graced the camp with his presence 🌟.

🫀 The camp offered diabetes screening, cardiovascular screening, stroke awareness education, physiotherapy-led exercise demonstrations, patient and caregiver education, and a community awareness walk — all in recognition of the vital role physiotherapy plays in heart health and stroke prevention 💪🏽.

♿ A delegation of 45 represented HHCS/ARPD — including staff, PWD Power Group members, persons with disabilities, A.I.S.S. students with attendants, interns, and student participants. 🦿 HHCS/ARPD's Orthopedic Workshop — Restoring Mobility, Free of Cost

Thanks to the generosity of HHCS donors, ARPD's fully equipped Orthopedic Workshop in Peshawar, Pakistan, restores mobility and dignity for individuals with physical disabilities — completely free of cost.

The workshop manufactures and provides custom prosthetic limbs — including upper and lower limb prostheses, modular systems, and pediatric prostheses for growing children. It also produces a range of orthotic devices, such as spinal braces, limb orthoses, and hand splints, among other custom solutions. Every device is tailored to each patient's needs.

Patients receive mobility and supportive aids at no cost. From clinical assessment and gait analysis to custom fabrication, precision fitting, patient training, and long-term follow-up, ARPD's skilled team handles every step of the journey.

HHCS/ARPD Held a Free Multidisciplinary Rehabilitation & Medical Camp on Warsak Road 🏥🤲💚

🌟 Thanks to the generosity of HHCS donors, ARPD successfully organized a Free Multidisciplinary Rehabilitation & Medical Camp on Warsak Road, Gulabad, Peshawar on August 22, 2026 — bringing comprehensive rehabilitation and medical services directly to a community that needed them most. A total of 275 beneficiaries availed free services at the camp 💚.

♿ The camp was open to children, adults, and elderly individuals from the area, and every service was provided completely free of cost — ensuring that distance, financial hardship, or limited resources never stood between community members and the care they deserve.

The Polio Team of Pawaka — Community Block Officer (CBO), Gul Shahrina, and Union Council Polio Officer (UCPO), Sheraz also supported the camp in collaboration with ARPD, displaying the Polio Programme banner, distributing polio information notebooks, sharing key messages on polio vaccination and eradication, and gifting Polio Programme-branded materials to participants — strengthening community engagement in support of a polio-free Pakistan 💪🏽

🏥 Helping Hearts, Caring Souls (HHCS) proudly funds the Association for the Rehabilitation of the Physically Disabled (ARPD), our on-the-ground partner in Pakistan. At HHCS/ARPD's Rehabilitation Center, the Comprehensive Rehabilitation Program goes beyond OPD services — there is a 50-bed inpatient ward where patients are admitted for continuous, dedicated care 🛏️.

🦾 Every admitted patient receives a personalized rehabilitation plan — physiotherapy 💪🏽, occupational therapy, speech therapy 🗣️, and psychotherapy 🧠 — delivered by our dedicated therapy teams.
