Packing time❗
After our volunteers complete a computer order, it’s ready to ship! 💻With lots of bubble wrap to protect the special cargo, we make sure the laptops arrive safely at their final destination! 🚚

Our volunteer Dean is working on a motherboard setup and creating a step-by-step checklist to help make the process easier and more efficient for future builds. A lot of behind-the-scenes work goes into testing, rebuilding, and preparing the computers!

We needed more packing supplies and now we are all “stocked up”. Here’s a peek at our team getting ready for the packing extravaganza! 😊

Thanks to Texas Instruments and their generous donation of technology. The donated laptops will get a second life and help support our mission. We will refurbish these computers, equip them with accessible technology, and deliver directly to those in need.

Volunteer Spotlight – Dave
Dave has volunteered for 12 years and came to CFTB after retiring from Texas Instruments as an Electrical Engineer for 33 years.

He has always been interested in computers and built his first computer at home, an S100 copying the design of an Altair and using WordStar for word processing.

At CFTB Dave likes the variety of assignments. He creates and maintains our Master images, tests all types of donated equipment, and is assigned to special projects. When we have a difficult situation to tackle, Dave is our go to “Fix It Guy”!

His favorite hobbies are his 20-mile daily bike ride and building/fixing tech items.

Thanks goes to Dave for all his hard work and dedication to CFTB!
