Hey WLRC Community!

In 8 minutes (1:20pm CST), a national alert test will take place across phones, TVs & Radio. No need to be alarmed.

THIS IS JUST A TEST!!

Head's up Denton County....a couple things to watch today:

1. At 1:20pm, FEMA is conducting a nationwide test of the nation's alert system over telephones (including cell phones), TV and radio. It's just a test, and there is no action required on anyone's part.

2. In true Texas fashion, our drought will be punched hard in the face today and tomorrow. Our share of the rain may be in the 1-3" range, and since it is Texas, there's a reasonable chance of excitement in the form of gusty winds, hail, and localized flooding. Exercise caution!

Hey WLRC Community!

This Saturday, September 23, 2023, Denton County will be hosting it's FIRST ever Preparedness Fair. There will be games, food, raffles, and lots to see and learn!

Look for familiar faces while there because WLRC Representatives will be in attendance. Come by our booth (that'll be located inside the Courthouse) and say hi!

Come and be a part of the FIRST Denton County Preparedness Fair. During this event, you'll have the opportunity to interact with emergency vehicles, partake in outdoor games, grab some free food, and expand your knowledge at educational booths.

The Office of Emergency Management (OEM) and our dedicated partners are eagerly looking forward to meeting each and every one of you! Your safety is our utmost concern, so be sure to mark your calendars for Saturday, September 23, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
