Hello friends!

As you may or may not know, National Poetry Month ended yesterday. It was a wild month with gazillions of poems flying every which way across the internet! We are proud to be part of that bombardment because we truly believe poetry is good for the soul.

Arts and Culture El Dorado undertook two poetry-themed activities this past April: We posted a poem a day on this page and, in partnership with El Dorado County Library, we launched the Found Poem Project in all six county libraries—a kind of poetry treasure hunt, with prizes of poetry books by Northern California poets awaiting folks who found the winning poems.

As we move into May, we want you to know three things:

First, the Found Poem project will continue on through May and June, until the last poem is discovered. Yay!

Second, we wish to give a roaring shout-out to all the county librarians who, on top of their already very busy workday, took the time to hide poems! We are grateful to the moon and back!

And last, we'd like to thank the thirteen poets who donated their books to the project; in no particular order, they are: Carol Lynn Stevenson Grellas, Alice Templeton, Patricia Caspers, Shawn Pittard, Kate Wells, Molly Fisk, Lara Gularte, Jen Vernon, Loch Henson, Janet Jennings, Taylor Graham, Carolyn Miller, and me, Moira Magneson. All total, forty poetry books were donated! We are moved by your extraordinary generosity and willingness to participate in this project! You rock!

Poem on!
