Hello everyone,

Quick update concerning Travel Tryouts:

- There will NOT be a second Chipmunk Tryout tonight, Coach Matthews is content with what he saw from the team. Please reach out to me if you had a player that could not attend yesterday's tryout so I can introduce you to Coach Matthews and your team. Chipmunk will be ready to begin practicing together soon.

- The second Cadet Tryout tomorrow night will be a Joint Group where all Cadets will be trying out together from 6-8pm on 9/25. It is highly likely we will have a third tryout for Cadet as well. Coach Drew, Coach Zankel, and Coach Bernard would like to see all of the Cadets together to assess them. Please make every effort to be there.

- Beaver & Penguin players, please standby to hear what your Groups will be for your second tryout. Those will be determined shortly.

It was Championship Saturday for our Chipmunk and Penguin divisions for the Summer season. After a couple of thrilling games, the Islanders and the Wild are your summer champions.

In the Chipmunk division, it was a hard fought series by both the Islanders and the Devils. The Islanders won game 1 4-3 in OT. The Devils came back this morning and pushed the Islanders to the brink. Thanks to some last minute heroics by their goaltender, the Islanders hung on to win game 2 by a score of 2-1, clinching the championship.

Not to be outdone, the Penguin division followed up with a thriller of their own. After an 8-1 loss in game 1 Friday night, the Blackhawks came out and played with passion today. In a game that featured plenty of back and forth play, 3 periods was not enough. The game was tied 4-4 late and the Blackhawks scored to take the lead with 1:16 to go. The Wild responded with 20 seconds left in the 3rd to tie the game.

In the extra frame, the Wild were able to successfully kill of one power play, and as was the case at the end of 3rd, we were tied after the 1st OT. In the 2nd OT period, the play was once again back and forth, with both goalies playing very well. But finally, Noah Daugherty was able to break through for the Wild, just under four minutes into the 2nd OT.

All four teams should be proud of how they played, representing each other and the Team Pitt organization. Join us in congratulating all these young athletes for a great season.
