🪦 Steel City Horror Show 🧟
Harris Theater, August 30

The Steel City Horror Show rises again!

Last time, we watched the 1979 classic PHANTASM, with special guests Norm Connors and Gwen Hessom on hand to show us some of the finer points of embalming and funerary services.

(We're also pretty sure that Dr. Gielgud became some form of diminutive ghoul, but only temporarily.)

Next up, we've got a cult favorite that will offer our first meeting with one of the greatest horror performers of all time! Your one-word hint: JACK!

“Pittsburgh Might Just Be the Most Dynamic City in America…”

Thank you, Michael Clinton and Esquire, for visiting Pittsburgh and seeing firsthand how the arts are helping shape the city’s next chapter.

The arts have the power to transform a city, and Arts Landing is carrying that work forward for the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust. We're bringing people together and creating new energy in the heart of Pittsburgh's Cultural District.

We’re proud to play a role in this “major moment,” and even prouder to see the entire city in the spotlight.

The collapse of the steel industry was supposed to kill the Steel City, but my hometown never rusted away. Now it’s having a major moment. On a recent trip home, I investigated how the yinzers pulled it off.

Jesse Factor: The MetaMarthasis
Greer Cabaret Theater, Sep 10 - Sep 12

The MetaMarthasis joyfully floats on a series of oppositional forces: authenticity vs. artifice, stark minimalism vs. dazzling spectacle, high modernism vs. pop confection. This celebratory event features excerpts from Jesse Factor’s evening-length dance work The Marthaodyssey and some new surprises. In The Metamarthasis, Jesse’s studied synthesis of the “High Priestess of Modern Dance” (Martha Graham) and the “Queen of Pop” (Madonna) celebrates rigor, excess, devotion, and diva. Part modernist archive, part pop-culture pageantry, part drag extravaganza – completely fabulous
