Allegheny County's ACT NOW executive order is a commitment to making this region a national leader in clean technology and advanced manufacturing, with opportunity rooted in the people who live here.

At the signing on June 4, Heinz Endowments President Chris DeCardy named what's at stake: too many young people leave high school and miss the critical next step of gaining the skills needed to be part of our economy. That's why the Endowments has increased its commitment to young people ages 16 to 24 by a factor of 10 in the last couple of years.

ACT NOW brings together business, labor, universities, investors, and philanthropy to turn that commitment into coordinated action.

Pittsburgh just landed on the world stage. Pittsburgh International Airport's stunning new terminal just earned a spot on the Prix Versailles World's Most Beautiful Airports List — one of only two U.S. airports recognized, alongside San Diego International Airport.

The terminal features a pedestrian bridge modeled after the iconic first glimpse of Downtown Pittsburgh visitors get upon emerging from the Fort Pitt Tunnel, support columns shaped like regional trees, the Franco Harris “Immaculate Reception” statue, and a showcase of local artists, making it a landmark worthy of recognition.

Kudos to PIT!

For 250 years, Americans have invested in the places and people that make their communities worth living in. In Pittsburgh, that tradition is alive in every neighborhood, riverbank and civic space.

On this Day of Generosity, we celebrate the organizations across our region doing this work every day — in arts and culture, civic participation, workforce development, climate and environmental health, community and economic development, and support for veterans.

250 years of generosity. Countless communities stronger for it.

Bravo to the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and Maestro Manfred Honeck on extending his contract through the 2032-33 season.

It’s a milestone that will mark 25 years of the world-renowned conductor leading one of the region's most celebrated cultural institutions.

Southwestern Pennsylvania has no shortage of creative talent. What talented people need are real pathways into sustainable careers.

Through our Arts & Culture: Creative Workforce Pathways investment area, we support organizations that provide structured entry into paid creative work through training programs, apprenticeships and industry partnerships.

Our goal is a region where artists and culture workers can build lasting careers close to home, and where the arts and culture environment draws and maintains talent for generations.

Pittsburgh, get ready to feel the rhythm of our culture. The Pittsburgh International Jazz Festival returns Sept. 17–20.

Liberty Avenue in Downtown Pittsburgh will come alive with free music and community programming connected to Pittsburgh's Our America 250 celebration, a moment to reflect on how jazz music has shaped our region and nation.

Terri Lyne Carrington, Sean Jones and Orrin Evans headline a landmark weekend that also honors Bernard "Pretty" Purdie with this year's Lifetime Achievement Award.

VIP passes are now available, including priority seating for outdoor stages and access to a lounge area inside the August Wilson African American Cultural Center.
