OCA Pittsburgh - Asian Pacific American Advocates is dedicated to advancing the social, political, and economic well-being of Asian Pacific Americans.

OCA (formally known as the Organization of Chinese Americans) Pittsburgh is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit, non-partisan organization and is part of OCA National, a civil rights advocacy and educational organization dedicated to advancing the social, political and economic well-being of Americans of Asian and Pacific Islander descent. To securing the rights of Asian and Pacific Islander American citizens and permanent residents through legislative and policy initiatives at all levels of the government, and to bettering the lives of the more than 12 million Asian and Pacific Islander Americans across the country. Headquartered in Washington D. C., OCA has over 100 chapters and affiliates across the country participating in community involvement and developing the leadership potential and skills of the next generation. OCA takes no collective position on the politics of any foreign country, but instead focuses on the welfare and civil rights of Asian Pacific Americans in the United States.

The City of Pittsburgh is inviting local artists and organizations to create an original poster for the America 250 City Art Poster Project, inspired by Pittsburgh’s people, neighborhoods, history, culture, industry, landscape or future.

Informed Nation: Understanding and Addressing Online Mis/Disinformation
Tuesday, October 13, 2026
8 PM ET / 5 PM PT In this 90-minute virtual workshop, hosted by OCA - Asian Pacific American Advocates and Viet Fact Check, participants will learn about problematic information that exists both online and offline. We will share tools and strategies to help participants navigate overwhelming or potentially problematic information. This workshop was developed by scholars, journalists, and media producers who have been conducting community gatherings to better understand and address the wide spread of mis-/disinformation online, particularly among intergenerational immigrant and refugee communities.
