Leadership Pittsburgh Inc. Alumni spent an evening at Heinz Hall for an experience-based event. Alums had the opportunity to hear unique insights from Jacob Joyce, Associate Conductor of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, and Mary Persin, VP of Artistic Planning of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, along with a behind-the-scenes tour led by Marty Bates, LP XLII and the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra's EVP & COO.

After hearing from the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra team and getting behind the curtain, LPInc. Alums enjoyed the Saturday Session performance of Tchaikovsky’s Pathétique, conducted by Edward Gardner.

LPInc. Alumni programming is made possible through the generous support of PNC.

The Community Leadership Course for Veterans XIII cohort had their first of many sessions designed to help them develop a greater understanding of the Southwestern Pennsylvania region.

Hosted by the Heinz History Center, CLCV XIII learned about Pittsburgh’s rich history of innovation from Anne Madarasz, Chief Historian and Director of the Franco Harris Sports Museum at the Heinz History Center. Leslie Przybylek, Senior Curator at the Heinz History Center, also spent time with the cohort sharing more about the work involved in collecting, documenting, preserving, and displaying important historical artifacts.

A pit stop by a Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood set piece even brought a welcome from King Friday XIII for the CLCV XIII cohort.

Thank you to Anne and Leslie for sharing their amazing knowledge and passion for the region with the cohort!

Leadership Pittsburgh XLII's recent trip to Harrisburg provided the cohort with a firsthand look at the advocacy, collaboration, and leadership that shape public policy in Pennsylvania. With the support of the Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC Team - especially advisors Charles J. Kolling, Jr., Carrie Lewis DelRosso, LP XLI, Erin C. Molchany, LP ###VII, and Randy P. Vulakovich, LDI XV, YALP I - participants engaged in meaningful conversations about policy, public service, and civic leadership.

Through meetings with legislators and meaningful peer dialogue, participants brought months of learning, reflection, and shared experiences into discussions centered on the future of Southwestern Pennsylvania.

The cohort also gained valuable insight on bipartisan governance, public service, and economic development throughout the Commonwealth from speakers Speaker of the House Rep. Joanna McClinton, Republican Whip PA State Rep. Tim O'Neal, LP ###III, and Morgan Boyd, Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development.

By visiting the Pennsylvania Capitol, LP XLII can now further reflect on how they can continue driving impact, strengthening communities, and leading with purpose long after their graduation in June.

Interested in embarking on your own community leadership journey? Leadership Pittsburgh applications are due the first Friday in June! Apply today: https://loom.ly/IsVOCoA
