Great things happen when curiosity is ignited at the Kamin Science Center!

The Leadership Development Initiative (LDI) ###IV cohort started its program year with a Welcome Reception at the Kamin Science Center. Surrounded by exploration and innovation, our newest cohort of high-performing, developing leaders is ready to experiment with new ideas, expand their perspectives, and discover ways to make an impact in their careers and communities.

Leadership Pittsburgh (LP) XLIII is ready for kickoff!

We began what is sure to be an extraordinary year of leadership, connection, and community impact for LP XLIII with a Welcome Reception generously hosted by the Pittsburgh Steelers at Acrisure Stadium. We're grateful to the Pittsburgh Steelers for providing a unique behind-the-scenes experience for our guests with a private tour throughout the stadium.

Throughout the CLCV XIII program year, groups of CLCV™ participants worked alongside local nonprofit organizations to develop meaningful projects designed to strengthen the nonprofits’ work and expand their impact across the region.

This year’s projects supported the Alzheimer's Association- Greater PA Chapter, Auberle, Beverly's PGH, Bona Fide Bellevue, Food Assistance Match, Inc., and YouthPlaces. A special thank you to our nonprofit partners and CLCV™ participants for the time, collaboration, and commitment brought to these projects.

We’re also grateful to UPMC for hosting our project presentations and to Erik Orient, CLCV IV – UPMC, for welcoming the cohort and sharing his CLCV™ experience and insights.

As CLCV XIII nears the conclusion of their program year, the cohort had an opportunity to think about what is next in their community leadership journey through their Leadership OnBoard (LOB) session. LOB provides the opportunity for participants to get first-hand experience as a board member by serving a year-long guest placement on the board of a local nonprofit. This year's CLCV™ LOB host organizations include:

- American Red Cross Greater Pennsylvania
- Food Assistance Match, Inc.
- Friends of the Pittsburgh Fisher House
- Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank
- Operation Troop Appreciation

Thank you to the American Red Cross for hosting the session and to Jorge Martinez, Regional Chief Executive Officer, American Red Cross Greater Pennsylvania, for welcoming the cohort. We are also grateful to LaShawnda A. Thomas, LP ###II - Mendes Consulting LLC, for sharing her expertise on nonprofit governance, and Devon Diaz, CLCV XII - Army Artificial Intelligence Center (AI2C), for sharing her LOB experience with the cohort.
