What a great Chesmont BPW October meeting! The highlight was celebrating National Business Women's Week by honoring Donna Saavedra, our local most amazing business owner of Mama Alba's Diner. Patty Snyder, District 10 Assistant Director joined us for her Official Visit. We discussed the inspiring Zoom presentation of Liz Scott, mother of founder Alexandra “Alex” Scott, and deposited donations in our "official" Alex's lemonade Stand collection jar. We planned our holiday outing. And we took care of business!

Chesmont BPW was thrilled to celebrate National Business Women's Week by honoring Donna Saavedra, our most amazing local business owner who has created, in just two years, a dining experience for her Mama Alba's Diner clientele that feels more like the comfort and joy of coming home for a meal than like eating out at a restaurant!!

Happy Tuesday! I want to take this opportunity to Thank the the Chestmont Local Organization of Pennsylvania Federation of Business and Professional Women's Clubs for Honoring me last evening for National Business Women's Week. It was a pleasure to meet and speak with all of you.

After just two years in Business here in Phoenixville I truly feel like part of such a wonderful community not just here, but also with those that travel to get to us from surrounding Communities. I appreciate everyone that walks through our doors and enjoy listening to their stories. I could not do this without all of you! Thank you for welcoming us into your lives

Chesmont BPW concluded our 2025-2026 year with an awesome June meeting. We were thrilled to welcome Tegan Connor-Cole, (far right) Youth Services Director, Phoenixville Public Library who brought the books she had purchased for the library with the Chesmont BPW March donation to celebrate Women's History Month and inspire young adult readers. Indeed, we were inspired by the breadth, depth, diversity and appeal of her book selection.
We appreciated the opportunity to hold our meeting (for the first time) in the welcoming Phoenixville Regional Chamber of Commerce meeting room, which had the perfect set up for our hybrid meeting, with 5 BPW Sisters joining us via Zoom.

District 10 Spring District Meeting
Based on survey feedback from members, District 10 revamped our Spring District Meeting. We moved to a morning schedule, ending before noon; streamlined the business portion to keep the meeting duration time between 2 to 2 1/4 hours; relocated from a more formal restaurant setting to a lovely meeting room at St. John’s Lutheran Church, provided a Continental Breakfast; and Delaware County prepared a brief interactive activity as our program. We got our business done in a setting that enabled members the opportunity to interact and mingle more easily. What a great time with District 10 BPW Sisters!

For the 2nd year in a row, Chesmont BPW visited the Educators Rising club meeting at the Phoenixville Area High School (PAHS) to show our support for this inspiring program with a certificate of achievement and a grant award. The Educators Rising Program is both a curricular class as well as a club that focuses on cultivating a new generation of aspiring educators. In March, 27 Educators Rising students represented PAHS at the PA Educators Rising Statewide Competition and Conference on the campus of Penn State. The group competed in 4 competitions, winning 2 of them, and won 2nd place in the state in APEX (a chapter showcase event).
