As days grow shorter and temperatures drop in autumn, trees stop making chlorophyll pigment and break it down to reabsorb valuable nutrients like nitrogen, which reveals the carotenoid pigment! 🍁👀

Let's make callaloo! 🍽️ Callaloo, also known as amaranth, is a plant used in popular dishes in many Caribbean countries. It's also a favorite of ours, and we grow it at many of our Food for All gardens throughout the summer.

Have you ever grown or cooked with callaloo before? 🧑‍🍳

Happy Workforce Development Month! 💼📈 Throughout the month of September, the National Association of Workforce Development Professionals works to raise awareness of the workforce development field and recognize the professionals, programs, and partnerships that connect people with meaningful careers, help businesses develop talent, and strengthen communities. At Trellis for Tomorrow, we are committed to supporting the next generation of workforce leaders through our GROW Careers programs.

This summer, we matched 🌟12🌟 young professionals with regional nonprofits and social impact businesses to provide meaningful, paid work experiences. These organizations include Phoenixville Area Community Services, Resilient Students Network, GreenAllies , Camphill Village Kimberton Hills , and Ann's Heart of Phoenixville . Of the 12 interns, five have found future opportunities because of their GROW experience!
