𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿.

Candelen recently hosted a 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗹 & 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗺 𝗥𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 with leaders from philanthropy, healthcare, government, and the nonprofit sector to explore the future of maternal and infant health in Arizona. The discussion highlighted emerging needs, gaps in support, and lessons from 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗻'𝘀 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗹 & 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗺 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺, which pairs families with trained Doula-Parent Educators who provide personalized support, education, advocacy, and connections to resources throughout pregnancy and the postpartum journey.

Together, participants explored opportunities to strengthen maternal and infant health outcomes, expand access to evidence-informed supports, and thoughtfully scale programs that help families thrive during one of life's most important transitions.

We are grateful to every participant whose expertise, perspectives, and thoughtful contributions will help inform the next chapter of this work. Advancing maternal and infant well-being requires partnership, innovation, and a shared commitment to action, and we look forward to continuing the conversation.

Pregnancy and infant loss changes families in ways that can be difficult to explain. Behind every loss is a baby who was loved, a family who is grieving, and a story that deserves to be remembered.

During Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, Candelen stands with families who have experienced loss. We honor their babies, their grief, and the love that continues long after loss.

There is no timeline for grief. There is no “right” way to remember. Every story matters. 💛

As we reflect on the incredible success of the Candelen Elevating FFN Voices Summit, we extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who made this inspiring day possible. A special thank you to Helios Education Foundation for graciously hosting the Summit and for their steadfast commitment to advancing opportunities for Arizona's children, families, and caregivers.

We are deeply grateful to our distinguished panelists for sharing their wisdom, experiences, and powerful perspectives. Your voices helped shine a light on the critical role Family, Friend, and Neighbor caregivers play in strengthening children, families, and communities.

And to every attendee who joined us, thank you for bringing your passion, insights, and commitment to this important conversation. We’ll bring together FFN caregivers, community leaders, advocates, and early childhood partners to 𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻, 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺𝘀𝗲𝗹𝘃𝗲𝘀. As we reflect on Candelen’s 50 years of service to children, families, and caregivers, we’re also looking ahead to what’s possible when FFN caregivers have a meaningful voice in shaping the systems designed to support them.

✨ Recently, Candelen's Program Director, 𝗥𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗥𝗮𝘆, received a very special Innovator Award from the Arizona Department of Health Services Strong Families.

This award recognizes individuals who go beyond traditional approaches to home visiting, bringing forward innovative and transformative solutions that strengthen services for pregnant individuals, young children, and families. Over the past six years, Ruth has shepherded the development of 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗻'𝘀 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗺 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 bringing a vision from an idea, to thoughtful program design, to a pilot, and now to a program poised for even greater impact. Her leadership, creativity, and persistence have helped bring something truly meaningful to life, making a difference for families across Arizona.

Ruth embodies the spirit of this award: challenging what’s possible, approaching our maternal and newborn health work with innovation and heart, and continually looking for ways to better serve children and families.

From 𝘚𝘦𝘱𝘵𝘦𝘮𝘣𝘦𝘳 15 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘖𝘤𝘵𝘰𝘣𝘦𝘳 15, we celebrate the rich histories, cultures, traditions, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities.

𝗗𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄? More than 20 countries celebrate Hispanic Heritage through their own unique traditions, foods, music, art, and languages. While we may share cultural connections, every community has its own stories and traditions that make it special.

At Candelen, we know that community is at the heart of how children and families thrive. Parents, family members, friends, neighbors, and educators all play an important role in nurturing children, strengthening families, and passing traditions from one generation to the next.

This month, we celebrate the many Hispanic and Latino parents, caregivers, educators, and community members who nurture children, strengthen families, and help make Arizona’s communities stronger every day.

🏠 New Resource for Arizona’s Home-Based Child Care Providers!

We’re excited to share the new 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗧𝗼𝗼𝗹𝗸𝗶𝘁, a FREE resource designed to help home-based child care providers navigate licensing, strengthen their business operations, save time and money, and continue providing high-quality care for Arizona’s children.

Candelen was proud to partner with AZAEYC and fellow Bright Futures partners to help bring this toolkit to life. By putting practical tools, resources, and guidance in one place, we’re making it easier for home-based providers to access the support they need to build strong, sustainable child care businesses.

This work is part of 𝗔𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗼𝗻𝗮’𝘀 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲, an important investment in expanding access to quality child care and strengthening the early childhood workforce across our state.
