Arizona.

This week we’re out with Business Agents, talking to members, visiting jobs, and seeing firsthand what rebuilding an industry actually looks like.

Arizona carries a different history. A different landscape. And out of respect for the work happening here, we’re not getting into every detail.

What we will say is this:

We’re seeing relationships reform.

Trust rebuilding.

Real conversations happening between our Local, membership, and contractors willing to keep moving forward.

Not through headlines.
Through work.

Long days. Job visits. Hard conversations. Showing up.

The video isn’t about promises.

It’s about commitment.

And Arizona has people putting in that work every single day.

The next chapter is already being written.

Stay tuned.

SOUTHERN NEVADA — THINKING ABOUT APPRENTICESHIP? 👊

If you missed application pick-up yesterday at the Las Vegas Training Site… you still have ONE LAST PICK-UP DAY before testing.

📍 Thursday, June 18, 2026
Richard W. Dieleman Training & Education Center
North Las Vegas, NV

Take it from Brother Logan Hollingsworth.

Just a few years ago, Logan was working in a tire shop with a passion for mechanics and a desire to do more. He joined the apprenticeship… completed his training… and today he’s doing work he never imagined he’d be doing.

His words?

“Best decision I ever made.”

But READ THE DETAILS carefully:

📬 Mailed applications must be POSTMARKED by May 29, 2026
đź“„ Hand-delivered applications must be RECEIVED by June 19, 2026
📝 Entrance Exams: Week of June 22–26, 2026

If you’ve been waiting for a sign… this might be it.

We’ve seen a lot of Big Booms these last few months all across our District Tour

05/22/2026

Before heading to Arizona for the week, we spent Monday in District 4 touring a MAJOR water infrastructure project in San Diego with Business Agent Sean Combs 💧🏗️

The North City Water Reclamation Plant Expansion is part of the City of San Diego’s long-term Pure Water San Diego Program — a massive effort to create a more sustainable, drought-resistant local water supply.

This approximately $255 million expansion project increases advanced water treatment capacity at the North City facility, helping transform purified recycled water into a reliable future drinking water source for the region.

Projects like this are a reminder that Operating Engineers aren’t just building roads, bridges, and skylines — we’re helping build the critical infrastructure that keeps communities running.

Huge respect to the union workforce out there moving this project forward in District 4. đź’Ą

📣 2026 Raise ALLOCATIONS

🗓️ Semi-Annual General Membership Meeting Reminder

The feeling of POWER in a room when thousands of Operating Engineers come together can’t be explained — The reminder of what we are, who we represent, and the realization that WE ARE LOCAL 12.

General Membership Meetings are where members gather, hear important updates, take part in ratifications, ask questions, and witness the strength of this organization firsthand.

This union was built by participation. By members showing up. By members being present.

And truthfully? The pride, the energy, and seeing over 5,000 members united in one place… that alone is worth the trip to Pomona.

🗓️ June 6, 2026
⏰ 9:00 AM
📍 Pomona, CA (see flyer for details)

We’ll see you at the meeting.

MEMBER HIGHLIGHT // Kelly Corbin — IUOE Local 12 Inspector 💥

Sister Kelly Corbin — 15 years with Local 12, proud union inspector, and bringing some real perspective on a classification many people outside the industry don’t fully understand.

Inspectors aren’t just standing around watching work happen.

They carry the plans, specifications, standards, and project requirements into the field. As Kelly put it…

“We ARE the plans walking.”

Her message to new members?

Ask questions. Help each other. Know your job. Know your project. Show up prepared.

And above all… remember this:

It doesn’t matter whether you’re male or female — we’re all Local 12.

Knowledge builds confidence.
Preparation builds credibility.
Unity builds a stronger union. 👊

Thank you for the insight, Sister Kelly.
