The respondent, a survivor of childhood s*xual abuse at the hands of her dance teacher, was sued by her abuser for speaking publicly about her abuse. Amicus argues that this speech constitutes protected activity under California's anti-SLAPP (strategic lawsuit against public participation) statute.
