Tree climbing. Flag football. Letters to Addiction. Hard conversations and a lot of laughing.

ESPN reporter and advocate Lauren Sisler joined Camp Mariposa Sarasota for a full day last Saturday - not as a guest on the sidelines, but a participant in the full camp experience. She shared her own story of being impacted by addiction and grief and joined campers as they shared their stories and found joy and connection in the camp community.

Thank you to Lauren for a wonderful day, and to our partners JFCS of the Suncoast! We'll be posting videos from "My Day At Addiction Prevention Camp" later this month, so stay tuned.

Ambiguous loss is not tied to death - it can be estrangement, mental illness, divorce, and many other types of grief. Because ambiguous loss lacks society's established grief scripts, it can leave people feeling as if they navigate uncharted emotional territory alone.

To honor the many forms grief takes, the Eluna Resource Center has created the Ambiguous Loss Resource Hub, which includes free resources in various forms of media from podcasts, to books, to videos.

🦋 ICYMI: Camp Erin West Virginia applications have been extended!

We know summer schedules get busy, so we've extended the camper application deadline to August 14.

Camp Erin West Virginia is a free weekend grief camp for children and teens ages 6-17 who have experienced the death of someone important in their lives. Through fun activities, peer support, and caring mentors, campers discover they're not alone in their grief.

If you know a child or teen who could benefit from this experience, please help us spread the word by sharing this post with family, friends, schools, churches, and community organizations.

One of the most important parts of our grief camp, Camp Erin, is the Memory Board.

This moment is a special time for campers to honor and remember their person who has died, alongside their peers and camp volunteers. Usually held on the first night of camp, the experience is powerful and bonding, allowing campers to share memories of their person (if they choose), and see a visual representation of how they are not alone.
