🔥🇺🇸 NATIONAL VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTERS RECOGNITION DAY 🇺🇸🔥

Today, August 18, we recognize the men and women who answer the call not because it’s their job, but because it’s their community.

In 1984, President Ronald Reagan proclaimed August 18th as National Volunteer Firefighters Recognition Day, recognizing the vital role that volunteer firefighters play in protecting our families, homes, businesses, and communities.

Volunteer firefighters are neighbors helping neighbors. They leave their families, their jobs, their dinners, and their beds at a moment’s notice to respond when someone else is having their worst day.

🚒 They answer fire calls.
🚑 They respond to medical emergencies.
🌪️ They help during storms and natural disasters.
🚧 They work wrecks, hazards, and countless other emergencies.
❤️ And they do it because they care about the people around them.

More than 40 years later, that spirit of service is still alive in volunteer fire departments across America.

To every volunteer firefighter who has ever heard the tones drop and said “I’m coming”:

THANK YOU. 🇺🇸

And to the families who support them, the departments that train them, and the communities that stand behind them, thank you too.

Today, we honor the tradition.
Today, we honor the sacrifice.
Today, we honor the volunteers.

We would like to congratulate Austin Stamper, John Hamilton, and Ryan Creekmore on their successful completion of Volunteer Level 1. Their hard work, dedication, and sacrifice have paid off. They spent many evenings away from their families, pushed through exhaustion after long workdays, and still showed up with determination and commitment. We are incredibly proud of each of them.

Neshoba County also had another representative completing the course, Rebecca Scovack from House Volunteer Fire Department. Congratulations to all of you on this accomplishment and for your dedication to serving your communities.
