Just a reminder to all of you…… The Refuge is no longer hosting the annual 5K run/walk at the Ham Jam Arts Festival in Philadelphia this weekend.

Since The Refuge took over the Fair City Triathlon (formerly known Heart O’ Dixie Triathlon) we decided to pass on the 5K run/walk to another organization to use as a fundraiser within our community. They will not be having the 5k this year but do expect to have it back next year.

Enjoy supporting our amazing town of Philadelphia this weekend!

We are eagerly preparing for our upcoming musical at The Ellis Theater on December 10th at 7:00 PM! This will be a FREE community event, and our Friends are already hard at work getting ready for the special night.

But we need Nativity costumes! ⭐

If you, your church, or an organization you know has Nativity costumes available for us to borrow, please let us know! We will need to keep the costumes for rehearsals, now, through December 10th.

Help us bring the Christmas story to life with our Friends! ❤️

🚒🔥 Today was all about our local firefighters!

Our Friends got to meet some of the amazing men and women who help keep our community safe! We learned about what firefighters do, the training it takes to serve our community, and even got an up-close look at the fire truck and equipment they use. 🚒

And to top it all off… we put what we learned into practice with our very own fire drill!

A BIG thank you to our local firefighters for taking the time to visit, teach, and spend time with our Friends. We are so thankful for the men and women who serve our community every day! ❤️

🦷 Community Helpers Week continues at The Refuge!

Today, our Friends had the opportunity to meet with Airpark Family Dentistry

Dr. Saxon spent time teaching our Friends all about our teeth, the importance of good dental hygiene, and healthy habits that help keep our smiles strong and healthy. We loved getting to learn more about what a dentist does and why taking care of our teeth is such an important part of taking care of ourselves!

A BIG thank you to Dr. Saxon for taking time out of her day to visit The Refuge, share her knowledge, and make learning fun for our Friends. We are so thankful for community helpers who are willing to invest their time in us! 🪥🦷
