Boys and girls clubs are closed today!! Yall have a safe weekend
Today, we honor Juneteenth, the holiday commemorating June 19, 1865, when news of emancipation finally reached enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued. Juneteenth is a day to reflect on freedom, resilience, progress, and the continued pursuit of equality for all.
The colors featured in this design carry meaningful symbolism:
🔴 Red represents strength, sacrifice, and the resilience of those who endured hardship while striving for freedom.
⚪ White symbolizes hope, new beginnings, and the promise of a brighter future.
🔵 Blue reflects perseverance, unity, and the enduring spirit of a people whose contributions continue to shape our nation.
As we celebrate Juneteenth, let us remember the past, honor those who came before us, and continue building a future rooted in freedom, respect, and opportunity for all.
