Check out this info from the Philadelphia Energy Authority and the webinar happening TODAY:

Join Solarize Greater Philadelphia on May 28rd from 12-1 for an exclusive EAC webinar to find out why NOW is the best time for your partner organizations and stakeholders to invest in solar. The Philadelphia Energy Authority and the Solarize program need your help to get the word out because the sunsetting of the 30% ITC is rapidly approaching – the time for all of us in the five county SE PA area to make a decision is now. The webinar will provide an overview of Solarize’s one-stop-shop for conducting a project feasibility analysis all the way through the RFP process, financing and installation. There will be plenty of time for questions.
Register in advance for this meeting: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/eudDcivwT2CIWUPYlaOGtQ; After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

Meet our 2026 Community Leader!

Gregory Benjamin is the Ward Leader of the 51st Ward in Kingsessing, Southwest Philadelphia. A lifelong community organizer, he has served as a block captain for over 25 years and a committee person in the 5th Division for more than 20 years. Benjamin is known for turning problems into progress. After returning to the 5000 block of Springfield Avenue in 2003, he worked with neighbors to restore safety, stability, and pride. In 2008, when the Nutter administration proposed citywide library closures, Benjamin helped lead the successful effort to preserve the Kingsessing Library. His record demonstrates that organized community leadership, faith, and persistence can drive meaningful and lasting neighborhood change.

Our 2026 Community Development Champions played a lead role in facilitating $3.6 million in new City funding to strengthen the capacity of Community Development Corporations through the Community Capacity Building Fund. City Council President Johnson and Councilmember Gauthier championed funding for this purpose in the City’s FY25 and FY26 budgets, and Commerce leadership has played a key role in activating these resources through the Community Capacity Building Fund. All four champions have been strong supporters of flexible funding for CDCs and we look forward to celebrating them at the Gala!
