Grow by Design: Building Organizations That Last by Designing for Growth Instead of Burnout with Avarisse Crawford and Rosemary Duarte
Co-presented by North10, Philadelphia’s Chief of Staff and Director of Neighborhood Impact Services, this interactive session bridges organizational strategy with day-to-day team leadership. Drawing on North10’s experience strengthening organizational systems while continuing to serve its community, presenters will share both the executive perspective of designing organization-wide structures and the director perspective of translating those structures into everyday team practices.
Participants will explore five dimensions of the Grow by Design framework: Purpose, People, Teams, Systems, and Sustainability. Together, they will examine how decisions about communication, meetings, accountability, staff development, decision-making, and institutional knowledge can either contribute to organizational strain or create conditions for people and performance to thrive.
Each participant will leave with a 30-day Organizational Design Action Plan identifying one system they can strengthen immediately; moving from simply asking staff to do more toward intentionally designing organizations built to last.
