Congratulations and good luck to two PSRA rowers, Caitlin Cecere of Montclair High School Crew and Ava Smith of Mount Saint Joseph Academy Crew for being selected to represent the USA in the 2026 U-19 World Rowing Championships Aug 6-9 in Bulgaria. Both young women will row in the women’s eight. Go USA! Go PSRA!

REGISTER FOR THE COLLEGE FAIR AT IDR. The Independence Day Regatta College Expo will place on Friday July 24 from 3-6pm at the Independence Day Regatta. This is open to rising Juniors and Seniors. Juniors will be able to talk to Divisions II & III, Seniors will be able to talk to all three Divisions. As part of the athletes registration they will get a Google drive with one-page fact sheets about each program for their own reference. Be sure to bring a rowing resume. Bill Belden, former Upper Merion Boat Club for Competitive & Recreational Rowing coach and world champion rower, and his wife, Cathy, were honored at a celebration of life last week at Undine Barge Club when the club dedicated a bench in their memory. Bill was a two-time World Champion rower in the lightweight single sculls, winning gold in Lucerne, Switzerland in 1974, and Bled, Slovenia in 1979. He was on 13 US national teams bringing home a total of seven medals (2 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze) for the USA. Bill also was a beloved coach of the Upper Merion High School team for many years. Bill passed away in January of 2025.

Congratulations to PSRA gold medalists 🥇at the US Rowing Youth National Championships this past weekend: Malvern Prep in the men’s youth quad and Mount Saint Joseph Academy in the women’s 2V8!  Congrats to all the PSRA teams that competed and made us proud!  A special shout out to the teams that had at least one boat in the A finals: Montclair, Ridgewood, St. Peter’s, Malvern, Mount Saint Joseph. PSRA Proud!
