On Wednesday, Oct. 7, join us in celebrating Black Bottom and the people who have worked to preserve its history and legacy.

Swing by the front of 3675 Market from 12-3 pm for:

🎷 Live jazz from acclaimed vocalist Denise King and her jazz quartet

📜 A presentation from Councilmember Jamie Gauthier recognizing “Black Bottom” as the first and official name of the West Philadelphia neighborhood, along with the renaming of 3600 Market Street as Dr. Walter Palmer Way

🍩Reception with light refreshments in the Quorum Lounge

At 3 p.m., Two Locals Brewing Company will host a community mixer honoring Professor Walter Palmer’s lifelong connection to Black Bottom, his decades-long work seeking justice for residents displaced by University of Pennsylvania’s expansion, and his 75 years of social activism in Philadelphia and beyond.
