This is Hunter who is now with Brenda recovering from a diaphragmatic hernia which was repaired last Monday at Wissahickon Creek Vet Hospital. His abdominal organs, including both the large and small intestines, were pushed into his diaphragm and were pressing against his lungs. The cause was trauma, but he was not hit by a car. His surgery was very serious and complicated. He is emaciated and not in great health. He is the nicest and most loving cat. As I write this, he is sleeping on my lap.
Hunter is the second cat in a month, from BCR, that has had major surgery. Triumph had a front leg amputation, now has a rear leg infection and needs a full mouth extraction for stomatitis.
Our little guy, Puff, who had two severe eye ulcers, was just diagnosed with stomatitis and is undergoing experimental FIP drug treatment (he does not have FIP). These drugs have helped young cats recover from stomatitis and retain their teeth.
Please keep all three of these wonderful cats in your thoughts. Updates will be posted.
