Our large, active Philadelphia Chapter holds action events and educational forums throughout the year. We are members of US Labor Against the War, Jobs with Justice, PA Voter ID Coalition, PCAPS, and others, and we have a seat on the Philadelphia Council AFL-CIO Executive Board and Southeastern PA ALF Executive Board. We work closely with other women’s organizations, especially NOW, Women's Medica

l Fund, PathwaysPA, Project Safe and Raising Women’s Voices. In recent years, we have run a cervical cancer prevention campaign, and each year we hold a benefit for Women Against Abuse, a local domestic violence service agency staffed by UAW members. In 2015, we celebrated Philly CLUW’s 40th Anniversary; hosted our 1st year of Radio Segments: Union Women speaking about Family and Women’s Issues on Today in Philly Labor Radio Show; we took part in rallies and marches for Fight For $15 And A Union for Fast Food Workers, Retail, Homecare Givers, Nursing Home Workers and many more. Brother Rodney Baker was a proud member of Local 696. He was known as a loyal, caring, and dedicated brother who stood firmly in solidarity with his fellow union members. Union strong in every sense, Brother Baker remained faithful and committed throughout the strike, always showing up and standing beside his brothers and sisters.

During difficult times, he made sure fellow line members had water, food, and whatever support they needed. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and offer encouragement in any way possible. Brother Baker truly believed in the union, believed in unity, and believed in the strength and support we provide one another.

Brother Baker, thank you for your service, your dedication, and the legacy you leave behind. Your presence and unwavering support will be missed greatly by your union brothers and sisters.

May you rest peacefully.
