Penn's Village is a self-governing, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that has been helping older Philadelphians age in place for over 14 years. We are a proud affiliate of the Village to Village Network, now with more than 250 Villages. We serve many central Philadelphia neighborhoods between the Delaware and Schuylkill Rivers, Girard Avenue to Washington Avenue. Penn's Village is supported by ex

pert staff, dedicated volunteers and strategic partners. Together, they collaborate to develop and deliver programs and services for older adults that help them stay in their own homes for as long as they are able. Founded in 2008, Penn’s Village has grown to include more than a dozen neighborhoods in central Philadelphia, with outreach efforts increasing to under-represented communities. Membership has doubled, volunteerism has tripled, and programs and events have increased four-fold since our founding. Services offered to our members by vetted volunteers include critical activities such as transportation, companionship, technology assistance, errands and more (for more information on our services click HERE). Our members and volunteers stay in touch and informed through a variety of ways including a monthly newsletter, blogs, and weekly updates, employing print, digital, broadcast and social media. Our expanded digital capabilities allow us to reach members, volunteers, guests, and community members quickly and cost-effectively, helping them connect and engage with each other more than ever before.

May is Older Americans Month (OAM) – a time to recognize older Americans’ contributions, highlight aging trends, and reaffirm our commitment to supporting older adults in our communities.

This year’s theme, Champion Your Health, emphasizes prevention, wellness, and personal responsibility as foundations of healthy aging. It encourages people to take an active role in managing their health, advocate for themselves, access preventive care, and make informed decisions that support independence.
